Cork Beach 2008
Easy directions from Cork City to the beach:
The beach is about 40 km from the city, and about 40 min drive. Take the N25 east towards Rosslare, (this goes through Waterford and Youghal too) while passing through Castlemartyr take the right after the bridge and this is the road towards Shanagarry. Drive through Shanagarry, go past the Church and Stephen Pearse Pottery, and then take a left at the TOP petrol station. Turn left at the next crossroads and a few hundred metres on is the beach.
Hopefully there'll be enough people driving on the Saturday morning to accommodate everyone. In case there's not, bus eireann has a bus that goes to Ballycotton (3 mins drive away) and leaves at 8:50 am on the Saturday morning. Go to http://www.buseireann.ie/pdf/1202384918-240.pdf to see this full timetable.
For leaving on the Sunday, there are no buses nearby, so if there are not enough people driving back to Cork City there will be trips made to Midleton where buses are frequent. Check out http://www.buseireann.ie/pdf/1203333461-261.pdf for a list of times.
For people arriving into Cork Airport, there are buses every few minutes that go to the City Centre and Cork Bus Station. Bus timetables can be viewed at http://www.buseireann.ie/bubble.php?id=163
The train station is about a 5 minute walk to the bus station. Train timetables can be checked at http://www.irishrail.ie/your_journey/printed_timetables.asp
Contact will be made with all players who sign up closer to the event, to ensure that everyone is accommodated.
